BUBANZA March 13th (ABP) – The natives and friends of Bubanza province (north-west) met in Muzinda, Rugazi commune, on Saturday March 9, under the chairmanship of the Speaker of the National Assembly, Mr. Pascal Nyabenda (native of that province), to discuss the achievements of 2018, the outlook for 2019 and the establishment of the association of natives, a check by ABP revealed. Among the 2018 achievements, the governor of Bubanza province, Mr. Nobus Thérence Butoyi, spoke among others about the construction of the modern stadium (in progress), markets in the communes, rice storage sheds, bridges, youth centers, schools and playgrounds. He also spoke about the rehabilitation of the tracks, the electrification, the distribution of the selected seeds and the small cattle, the reforestation as part of the “Ewe Burundi urambaye” program, the drinking water supply, the financial support of cooperatives to people, nursery development and school equipment. Concerning this year 2019, Governor Butoyi indicates that the province plans to focus efforts in the education sector to increase the success rate and quality of education. The same province is also planning urbanization, strengthening hygiene and improving housing at the trading centers, at the provincial headquarters, in Gihanga, in Musenyi and Muzinda. Other projects include the continuation of reforestation under the “Ewe Burundi urambaye” national program, support in the distribution of subsidized chemical fertilizers and close monitoring of the palm plantation which tends to replace food crops, he continues to say. The natives of that province have set up an association known as the “Association for the Development of Bubanza Province (ADEBU)”, with the Minister of Hydraulics, the Energy and Mines, Mr. Côme Manirakiza, as Leader. The latter promises to give his all for the huge contribution of the association in the development of the province and asks the natives to support the association in expertise. As for the Speaker of the National Assembly and native of the Bubanza province, Mr. Pascal Nyabenda, he invited the natives and friends of the province to overcome all that differentiates them to appropriate the development of the province.

GITEGA, 27 jan (ABP) – Le Général Major Evariste Ndayishimiye (photo : à droite) a été élu par le parti CNDD-FDD, le 26 janvier 2020 pour le représenter à la prochaine élection présidentielle prévue le 20 mai 2020.
Il a été choisi au cours d’un congrès extraordinaire, organisé à cette fin à Gitega (centre du pays) la capitale politique du pays.
Rehaussé par la présence du chef de l’Etat burundais Pierre Nkurunziza, également président du Conseil des Sages et Visionnaire du parti, ce congrès a connu la participation des diplomates accrédités au Burundi, des représentants des partis politiques amis du CNDD-FDD issus de l’intérieur et de l’extérieur du pays, des ambassadeurs du Burundi à l’étranger et des représentants des organisations de la société civile burundaise.
Après son élection, M. Ndayishimiye a remercié les congressistes pour la confiance placée en lui, témoignant qu’il ne ménagera rien pour continuer les chantiers de développement que son prédécesseur aura ouverts, s’il advenait qu’il accède au fauteuil présidentiel.
Pour y arriver, il a fait savoir qu’il a une certaine expérience et des atouts. A titre d’illustration, il a indiqué qu’il a occupé des postes de commandement de l’armée dans le maquis, avant d’être en charge de la sécurité publique, de l’administration des affaires intérieures de l’Etat, de l’administration des sociétés para étatiques et de la direction des cabinets civil et militaire à la présidence de la République.

En marge de cela, il a précisé qu’il maîtrise les préoccupations de la population, par le fait qu’il effectue des descentes dans différentes circonscriptions administratives.
Par ailleurs, il a expliqué qu’il entretient de bonnes relations avec le président du Conseil des Sages, arguant qu’il lui servira de référence dans la conduite du pays, une fois aux commandes de celui-ci.
A son tour, le président Nkurunziza lui a prodigué des conseils dont principalement confier tout projet à Dieu avant de l’exécuter. C’est la meilleure façon de s’attirer des bénédictions divines, a-t-il précisé tout en l’exhortant à faire de la Bible lui remis par son parti CNDD-FDD, en guise de félicitations, son bouclier au quotidien.
Il a terminé en lui promettant un soutien indéfectible dans la campagne électorale et a sollicité le concours de tout un chacun parmi les militants d’accompagner leur candidat jusqu’à l’aboutissement de son dessein.
Dans une déclaration de clôture du congrès, la chargée de la communication a annoncé que le siège social du CNDD-FDD sera transféré à Gitega.
Par ailleurs, elle a rappelé que le Burundi entretient de mauvaises relations avec le Rwanda, à la suite de la récente agression qu’il a perpétrée contre lui.
Elle a informé que celui-ci envisage d’intenter une action en justice contre le Rwanda à la communauté est Africaine et dans d’autres juridictions internationales.
Les activités du congrès qui avaient débuté par une prière se sont clôturées aussi par une prière sous une pluie battante, un signe de bénédiction de Dieu à l’endroit de l’heureux élu, d’après certains congressistes.
