KAYANZA September 28th (ABP) – Peace and security are a reality in Kayanza province (northern Burundi). This came out of a political and security meeting held in Butaganzwa commune of Kayanza province on Wednesday September 25th.
That meeting was attended by communal administrators, heads of defense and security forces, provincial representatives of political parties as well as representatives of religious denominations. The speakers of the day said that peace and security are a reality in all the communes of Kayanza province and that the coexistence is good between the members of the political parties, even if isolated cases are noticed sometimes.
To avoid those cases, the provincial police commissioner in Kayanza OPC1 Meroe Ntunzwenimana asked the provincial representatives of the political parties to scrupulously respect the laws and the public security, adding that the members of the political parties must now be part of the joint security committees so to curb suspicions that may arise.
On the other hand, the Governor of Kayanza Province, Mr. Anicet Ndayizeye, invited the political leaders of the Kayanza constituency to educate their members. If they do not pull themselves together, he warned, severe penalties will be inflicted on them because, they will have demonstrated that they are recalcitrant.
On their part, the provincial secretaries of the CNDD-FDD and the CNL parties agreed that their members who go against the law should be punished because it is not their representatives who invite them to provoke the members of the other political parties or shout insults at them.
