MUYINGA January 22nd (ABP) – Young people affiliated to political parties are called on to live in harmony to enter the elections with a calm mind. The appeal was launched Monday January 20 at the Umuco stadium in Muyinga (northeastern Burundi) by the provincial governor, Mrs. Aline Manirabarusha.
She urged young people to put aside the political rivalries that often taint good cohabitation.
“Do not be distracted by political parties, you are all Burundians, live in symbiosis to build a better future,” she advised.
Governor Manirabarusha suggested that young people should join together for self-development associations. The provincial authority urged the audience to privilege Burundian culture while respecting social standards. Young people must fight violence against women, said Manirabarusha while recommending respect for authority at all levels.
Addressing the security aspect, she called on young people affiliated to political parties to remain vigilant and play the police in order to give the information to the right people and as soon as possible. The governor of the province Muyinga finally regretted that the phenomenon of political intolerance is still being noticed in Gasorwe commune.
