RUMONGE March 18th (ABP) – The 1st Deputy President of the Republic, Mr. Gaston Sindimwo, accompanied by a delegation of the Al Makthoum Foundation from Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, paid a visit to Gatete zone of Rumonge commune on Friday March 15, 2019, where the “Nkurunziza City” village will be erected. There will be the construction of a complex consisting of a school, a clinic, playgrounds, water treatment unit to provide the people with access to drinking water and water points for irrigation.
First Deputy President Gaston Sindimwo thanked the Al Makthoum Foundation for agreeing to invest in the “Nkurunziza City” village. He also expressed his gratitude to the designers of the construction project of that village grouped within the Rumonge Construction and Supply Company for the granting of the land on the one hand, and for changing the name of the village that was previously “Mandela City”, on the other hand, as he had proposed in order to “pay tribute to Burundians who contributed to the greatness of the country”.
He appealed to other investors to invest in the “Nkurunziza City” village, especially in housing, by building storey houses, to allow everyone to have housing. He expressed his dream to see that village become one of the great centers of attraction of the country.
The governor of Rumonge province warmly thanked the 1st Deputy President for his interest in Rumonge province, and in the construction of that village in particular, and for raising the interest of the Al Makhtoum Foundation to invest in it.
The representative of the delegation of the Al Makhtoum Foundation said that the 1st Deputy President of the Republic of Burundi made a lot of efforts for that project, which will consist of building a complex made of a school, a clinic, playgrounds and a water treatment unit, to be taken into account. That water treatment unit will provide the people with access to drinking water on the one hand, and water points for irrigation on the other hand, according to the representative of that delegation.
For him, the realization of that project will build good ties of friendship between his country and Burundi. He promised an effective and productive involvement of the Al Makthoum Foundation in that project. “An Al Makthoum Foundation office will be open in the country soon to facilitate cooperation,” he said.
On behalf of the designers of the construction project of that village grouped within the Rumonge Construction and Supply Company, Mr. Benjamin Bikorimana presented the five-hectare land donation certificate, as well as products from fishing and agriculture in Rumonge province, to the head of the Al Makthoum Foundation delegation.
The 1st Deputy President of the Republic received, from the hands of the representative of the Al Makthoum Foundation delegation, a symbolic key meaning that all the doors of the Kingdom of the United Arab Emirates are open to him.
