NGOZI January 22nd (ABP) – Four people died as a result of being struck by lightning in Ngozi province (northern Burundi) in the evening of Sunday January 20, 2019, according to administrative sources.
The first person is a lady returning from Ngozi central market, accompanied by her eight-year-old son. She was sheltering on the salon of relaxation of a dwelling house in Kinyama quarter of Ngozi town. The other three were struck down while watching a football match at Gatwara stadium in Kiremba commune.
Other people whose number is not specified among those who were watching the match were injured and are hospitalized in Kiremba Hospital. The rain that fell more than six hours and till the night also caused damage to crops especially in the marshes.
