CANKUZO June 3 (ABP) – The Cankuzo province (eastern Burundi) organized on Saturday June 1, 2019, ceremonies marking the celebration of the 5th anniversary of the inauguration of the Reading and Cultural Animation Center (CLAC) of Cankuzo, a check by ABP revealed.
In his speech, the provincial governor, Mr. Désiré Njiji, commended the measure of the President of the Republic who launched the opening of cultural animation centers at the national level. These centers, he said, play a leading role in promoting Burundian culture. Governor Njiji, who invited young people to love their homeland through reading the customs of Burundians, urged them to get rid of laziness and poor behavior.
The organizer of CLAC Cankuzo praised the government initiative in promoting Burundian culture. On that occasion, he presented various projects to be carried out with the aim of getting youth to promote Burundian culture.
The ceremonies were attended by the provincial governor and his wife, parliamentarians elected in the Cankuzo constituency, provincial and communal heads of services, and other guests from neighboring provinces of Cankuzo. Learners from the basic and post-basic schools as well as the people of Cankuzo also partook in the ceremonies.
