BUBANZA May 18th (ABP) – Cases of adultery have been reported as causes of poor cohabitation in some localities of Bubanza province (northwestern Burundi) in these days, according to communal administration source.
As an illustration, within a week in Bubanza commune, the source speaks of a girl who was impregnated by her paternal uncle, a pregnancy that was the cause of her death later. The man was arrested and is in the hands of the judicial police for investigation. The other case is of a boy who is accused of having impregnated two neighboring girls. And currently, there is an unfavorable climate within those families.
In Musigati commune, a house that houses girls accused of prostitution is reported. The administrator of that commune, Mr. Jean-Bosco Nduwimana, asks his subjects to remain vigilant for the houses of that kind to be closed and that those alleged prostitutes be discouraged. That communal person in authority also speaks of women who abandon their husbands in Kayange village and who leave with their children for unknown destinations.
To remedy the situation, the governor of Bubanza province, Mr. Nobus Therence Butoyi, asks parents to teach their children, especially their daughters, to dare to say “NO” to the solicitations of the men or boys wanting to indulge them in the adultery.
