CIBITOKE March 28th (ABP) – A torrential rain mixed with strong wind, which hit four hills in Bukinanyana commune in Cibitoke province (northwestern Burundi), destroyed 14 classrooms, damaged 43 homes and several dozens of crops were damaged, according to the communal administrator, Mr. Jean Bosco Hategekimana.
According to him, there are 24 homes destroyed on Bihembe hill, five damaged classrooms at the Kanyori basic school and a classroom of Bihembe basic school. On Nyangwe hill, the rain destroyed eight houses and six classrooms of Ruziba basic school. On the Bitare hill, the balance sheet is 10 homes destroyed and two classrooms. On Butara hill, a house was wiped out by this bad weather.
On all four hills, people are in desolation and require assistance from charitable souls. As for the communal administrator, he calls on the natives and anyone able to do something to help the affected families.
