BUBANZA December 19th (ABP) – The President of the Republic of Burundi, Mr. Pierre Nkurunziza, met, in Rugazi commune of Bubanza province (northwestern Burundi) on Monday December 17, all provincial governors, the high command of law enforcement and provincial representatives of the judiciary, in order to assess security for this year 2018, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.
After the meeting that was held in camera, the deputy spokesman of the President of the Republic, Mr. Alain Diomede Nzeyimana, told the press that the finding was that there was a significant improvement in the security situation during this year 2018 compared to 2017. This because, he explained, causes of insecurity such as assassinations, land conflicts, accidents and the like have significantly decreased. And he said that the President of the Republic of Burundi gave a rating of 97% to all sectors concerned by security.
Deputy Spokesman Nzeyimana also told the press that President Nkurunziza asks security forces to double their efforts to strengthen security, especially at the end of the year. As for those who prefer prayer vigils, the police are called on to take special measures so that they pray safely and they end the year in style. The President of the Republic also asks the leaders of the army and the police to carry out, within three months, the specific training for the protection of the mining sites especially that it is planned a launching of new mining sites of Ntega, Marangara and Nyabikere.
