BUJUMBURA September 19th (ABP) – The Sebalook Foundation proceeded in Bujumbura on Sunday September 15, 2019 with the official launch of its “Turashoboye” (we are capable) project, which encourages young people to use their own strength to build their dreams.
The ceremonies were embellished by various dances presented by young people of the foundation.
In his speech, the chairperson of the foundation, Mr. Sébastien Kizito, said that young Burundians are capable of self-development, but that it is enough to guide them in the right way. He explained that he himself was once a street child and that he is currently contributing to the development of his country. He further stated that, thanks to his foundation, many street young people have been sensitized to the point where they are currently engaged in income-generating activities, outside or inside the foundation where some people have turned to cinematography, music, entrepreneurship, and the like.
He made a strong appeal to other young people in general and those in street situations in particular to prepare for their future. This will be possible, he said, thanks to the pooling of their strength to realize their dreams. Another appeal was made to any natural or legal person who could contribute, in one way or another, by bringing their cornerstone to help young people consolidate.
The doors are wide open to young people from all areas and who want to be members of the latter and who above all have projects, said the chairman of the Sebalook Foundation, while indicating that registration is free of charge.
Those who took the floor commended Sebalook’s good initiatives and asked for support from the government and other public and private organizations.
