GITEGA January 4th (ABP) – Preparations for hosting the Political Capital in Gitega province continue both in the construction of offices and residential infrastructures, this was said on Wednesday by the governor of Gitega, Mr. Venant Manirambona, during an interview with the check by ABP.
He expressed his satisfaction for that project, which is beneficial for the people of Gitega as well as for the whole country, as the province is located at the center of the country.
The infrastructure that will house the Senate is already available, he said, thanking the Senate President who was champion in those preparations.
On their part, the administrative authorities have begun to sensitize the native people, residents and friends to build infrastructures since the President of the Republic announced the project to erect the political capital in Gitega, a few years ago.
As a result, socio-economic infrastructures and housing have been built while other construction sites are underway.
The administrative authorities, in collaboration with the Ministry in charge of Equipment, Public Works, Transport and Spatial Planning, are working together to find infrastructures that could accommodate five ministries that will move from Bujumbura to Gitega. They are also working to improve other living conditions related to water, electricity and sanitation, he said. In the near future, there could be large companies that will initiate construction projects of houses for renting and sale, he added.
