MAKAMBA May 16th (ABP) – The ruling party in Makamba province (southern Burundi) held two activities on Monday May 13, 2019, namely the show of strength of the Imbonerakure youth league and the thanksgiving ceremonies for the four years that have passed after a failed coup, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.
The ceremonies of showing force began with a long parade of the Imbonerakure youth league of about 8 km from downtown Nyanza-Lac to the headquarters of the Muyange zone where speeches were made.
The provincial secretary of the youth league affiliated to the ruling party, Mr. Pius Nimbona, said that this activity was organized to show the opinion that CNDD-FDD youth have a vision to develop the country. To achieve this, he said, young Imbonerakure and State officials will have to join the Sangwe Cooperative and create other cooperatives, but without forgetting to strengthen joint security committees in their respective villages. He invited young people from other political parties to follow suit especially in promoting peace and improving security, which are the pillar of all development.
After the speech, members of the ruling party went to Mukubano village in the same zone of Muyange where an ecumenical prayer was organized to give thanks to God Almighty who protected Burundi on May 13, 2015 when the insurgents had attempted a coup but to no avail.
During that prayer, the preachers of the day, the Reverend Pastor of MINEVAM, Mr. Theophile Nahigombeye and the Reverend in second of EUSEBU, Mr. Joel Gihimbare, focused on scriptures drawn from the books of Daniel 5 verse 23, Ezekiel 28 verse 14-15, and Psalm 1 to signify that God has a good program for the righteous but He severely punishes those who go against His prescriptions.
In his address, the provincial secretary of the ruling party in Makamba, Mr. Adalbert Nininahazwe, asked the Bagumyabanga, Imbonerakure, Bakenyererarugamba and the party’s friends to respect their leaders and love each other. He urged them to be wary of rumors arising during the pre-election period and to go about development works for the self-financing of families in particular and the country in general.
Those ceremonies were attended by the communal representatives of the UPRONA and KAZE FDD parties.
