NGOZI January 17th (ABP) – The family of the President of the Republic of Burundi, Mr. Pierre Nkurunziza, harvested on Tuesday potatoes in his fields located in the Rutanga village of the Ngoma zone in Gashikanwa commune of the Ngozi province (north). Accompanied by his workers, President Nkurunziza began the harvesting activities with praises to the Almighty for the 2018 harvest, which was very good throughout the country. He also prayed by wishing the good health to anyone who will consume it.
The President of the Republic of Burundi also thanked God for the three weeks that he and his family have just spent on leave, which began with a thanksgiving prayer that took place at the Buye Anglican stadium from 26 to 31 December 2018. He said he is enjoying the holidays to visit those fields and harvest.
In addition to those potatoes, there are also other crops such as beans and marrow. He said that the harvest has been very beneficial because it has increased more than 10 times compared to the quantity sown. Nkurunziza said the harvest is not just for him and his family. It will also contribute to the recovery of the country’s economy.
