MAKAMBA March 13th (ABP) – A security meeting was held in Mbizi village, Kibago commune in Makamba province (southern Burundi) on Monday March 11, 2019 to encourage people that understood that peace and security are the business of everyone because in recent days, two rifles and a grenade were seized in that locality, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.
The administrator of Kibago commune, Mr. Zénon Nishimwe, said that peace and security are good despite the seizure of those firearms in Mbizi. He said that the commune has undertaken the project of electrification of the three zones of Kibago commune and the construction of a hotel to facilitate the visitors of the commune.
The Deputy Provincial Commissioner of Interior Security in Makamba, Mr. Léandre Nkurunziza, who confirmed that security is a reality in Makamba province, advised motorcycle and probox-taxi drivers to abide by the rules of the road to avoid accidents that take away human lives.
In addition, a representative of the people elected in the constituency of Makamba, a native of Kibago, asked the people of Mbizi to avoid being tricked by the detractors of peace as was the case in 2016 when they killed Kibago zone leader and Mbizi village leader.
On his part, the governor of Makamba province, Mr. Gad Niyukuri, urged the people to strengthen brotherly love, fight against fraud and create local markets to increase the revenue of the commune.
