BUJUMBURA May 18th (ABP) – The BRARUDI held at its headquarters on Thursday May 16, 2019, a news conference to officially launch the 2019 Primusic competition.
Primus product manager Ms. Dorine Gateka first recalled that this year, the competition has as ambassadors two artists, including Sat-B and Fizo and a jury of three people. She pointed out that the main objective of the competition called Primusic is to promote Burundian music and that it is open to any artist or anyone who has the talent of singing well.
Ms. Gateka calls on anyone who feels they belong to that category to register (from Thursday) on the BRARUDI website, on the Primus Facebook page or via the Primus Burundi mobile app, which is available on play store, to have a nice competition that will enhance Burundian music.
Primus Product Manager indicated that after registration, all provinces of the country will be toured from May 23, 2019, together with ambassadors and the jury to select the two artists representing each province. She added that at the end of the provincial auditions there will be 46 candidates who will compete in the regional phases.
Ms. Gateka said that in the first region, the jury will select 6 candidates as well as in the second region to have 12 candidates who will go to Primusic House to teach them how to sing well and to occupy the scene well. She said that only 6 candidates will go to the final and will be chosen via the Primus Burundi mobile application.
The final will take place on July 28th of this year and the winner and the other five will be awarded. She reported that the winner of Primusic will have an envelope containing 25 million Burundian francs, the second 5 million, the third 3 million, the fourth 2 million, the fifth 1,500,000 BIF and the sixth 1 million, and invited the Burundians to support Burundian music.
