KARUSI May 18th (ABP) – The Minister of Youth, Posts and Information Technologies, Ms. Evelyne Butoyi, inaugurated the TV Community Center in Karusi on Wednesday May 15, 2019, with the aim of approaching the people in general and youth in particular, modern communication techniques.
Karusi province was in dire need of computer centers, Governor’s senior advisor Innocent Ntirampeba said when receiving the TV center. It is a province that knows the Internet with fiber optics for almost a year.
The youth of Karusi only gets information from the youth centers of the communes which are not even sufficiently equipped, according to the senior adviser. The tele center comes therefore to occupy the youth in particular, train and open them up.
For the Minister of Youth, Posts and Information Technologies, Ms. Evelyne Butoyi, this is a government program to open the horizons of youth in particular. This public infrastructure that houses nine computers with computer tools including the server allowing internet browsing, photocopier with scanner and others comes only to put the youth of the province in communication with the rest of the world.
The use of the ICTs offers opportunities to reduce the unemployment rate as long as we can use this infrastructure to be aware of how we found associations, how to organize them, how to plan a micro-project or project, who are the potential donors and others, according to the minister.
The administration is called on to find someone worthy to be a responsible for that TV community center. They are also called on to supervise and invite young people to take advantage of that public infrastructure.
