BUBANZA November 25th (ABP) – The residents of Bubanza province are urged to double vigilance and exchange information for the prevention of any cause of insecurity in their respective localities, said the senior adviser of the governor in a security meeting he held in Bubanza commune (north-west of Burundi) on Thursday November 21, 2019.
The likely causes of insecurity reported by communal administrators at this meeting include the movement of some local residents on the spot to the Democratic Republic of Congo, for objectives hitherto unknown.
They gave the example of five people who have already left Rugunga village in Bubanza commune, a group of people who were arrested in Nyamabere village of Mpanda commune. They indicated that they were going to the RDC to look for job, and this within a period not exceeding one week.
The senior adviser of the governor of Bubanza province, Mr. Astère Nitunga, asks the joint security committees to play their role properly.
To the inhabitants of that province, he recommended the registration of every visitor and his/her mission in the locality. He also recommended reporting in real time any sign of a possible security disruption.
