MAKAMBA March 13th (AP) – Makamba province governor Gad Niyukuri joined the people of the Nyange zone in Mkamba commune on the weekend to work on the rubble transport, which will be used to build the construction of drinking water tank at the Nyagatoke pumping site. That pumping site will supply drinking water to the Mihongo, Ndago and Ruremba hills, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.
According to the administrator of Makamba commune, Mr. Japhet Ntungwanayo, that water supply project on those 3 hills is jointly executed by the commune and the Catholic parish of Makamba. The commune was responsible for building the power line to make possible the pumping of water.
Governor Niyukuri thanked the people who responded massively to that activity because the water will be beneficial to them. He took the opportunity to ask them to manage the harvest well and to avoid prohibited drinks because they weaken the body of the drinkers. He finally asked them to create hill-side cooperatives.
Regarding the constitutional referendum in preparation, he asked the people to keep the receipts that will allow them to withdraw the voter card giving access to the elections.
