BUBANZA April 27th (ABP) – Stray dogs have been reported as a source of insecurity in these days in some localities of Bubanza province (northwestern Burundi), where in only one week, at least 9 people have already been bitten by those dogs, according to communal administrative source.
Of those victims, 6 are from Gihanga commune, Gihanga village and Village 4, while the 3 others live in Bubanza commune. The latter were bitten when they were trying to kill a group of stray dogs in that commune. In Mpanda commune, Gahwazi village 1, young people from the locality have organized a campaign to physically eliminate those dogs and have already killed two, the same source said.
Faced with this damage, the Governor of Bubanza province, Mr. Nobus Therence Butoyi, asks the other inhabitants of that province to imitate those young people from Mpanda commune by killing those dogs which are becoming more and more a source of insecurity.
