BUJUMBURA February 13th (ABP) – The President of the Republic, Mr. Pierre Nkurunziza, held in Bujumbura on Monday February 12, 2019, a moralizing session for the staff of the Ministry of Energy and Mines, dominated by the staff of the Regideso company.
At the end of the session, the deputy spokesman of the President of the Republic, Mr. Alain Diomede Nzeyimana, told the press that such sessions have already produced positive effects. In the Bujumbura City Council where there are already five sessions held, the result is that people have become acquainted and took the opportunity to organize themselves into self-development associations.
Regideso is the first parastatal company that benefits from this kind of moralization. It’s a big company that has a workforce of 1,419 employees, said the minister responsible, Mr. Côme Manirakiza, who invited the staff to work hard to develop the country.
The deputy spokesman of the President of the Republic pointed out that Regideso has the noble mission of distributing drinking water and electricity. He emphasized that even the word of God highlights the role of water and light in spiritual matters. For him, that company is accused of mismanagement while the quantities of water and electricity are lacking.
The moralization session is based on the preservation of the culture, customs and history of Burundi, in particular by talking about colonization and insisting on its genesis to bring Burundians back to the love of their homeland. If Burundians really knew the history of Burundi, they would change their behavior and jealously organize themselves to develop it, Mr. Nzeyimana added.
