CIBITOKE March 19th (ABP) – The inhabitants of the headquarters of Cibitoke province (northwestern Burundi) in Rugombo commune attended massively the community development works carried out in the compound of the Cibitoke hospital on Saturday March 16, 2019.
The governor of the province, along with the heads of services, enhanced the activity of the day, which consisted of mixing and moving the concrete to fix the half-columns and placing the footings of a two-storey infrastructure that will house the emergency department, doctors’ consultations and resuscitation. That block, which will be built during the community works, comes after the extension of maternity, pediatrics and internal medicine within the same hospital.
The governor of Cibitoke province, Mr. Joseph Iteriteka, thanked all those who always attend the community development works organized the Saturdays, especially the students of the Rugombo Communal Technical High School and the Cibitoke High School.
Cibitoke province wants to solve the problem of multiple transfers of patients to Bujumbura for lack of some specialized services, Governor Iteriteka said. The bulk of public utility infrastructures in his province will now be built in storeys, he said. It should be noted that after the extension of the Cibitoke Hospital, the province intends to extend the Mabayi Hospital, starting with the pediatrics department where three or four sick children share a single bed.
