BUJUMBURA March 13th (ABP) – The Burundi National Police (PNB) seized on Tuesday morning March 12, 2019, munitions and military effects during a search carried out at Ntare Rushatsi Avenue of Gasekebuye quarter in the Musaga urban zone, Muha commune.
Those munitions consist of, among other things, a folding AK 47 rifle, a Makarov pistol, three magazines well stocked with the AK 47 rifle, two pistol rifle magazines, 10 military trousers and 11 military shirts (military uniforms), five pairs of trousers, four jackets, exercise suits, two camp beds, three pairs of boots, two canteens, two belts, two small musettes, four berets, and one outfit called ‘ondekane’, two badges, a military jersey and a bag kit.
The spokesman of the Ministry of Public Security, Commissioner Pierre Nkurikiye, said that all those effects were found in the household of former colonel Dieudonné Dushimagize, aka Gangi, currently detained in prison “for his involvement in the failed coup of 2015”.
Commissioner Nkurikiye also reports the arrest of 10 people from the same neighborhood who were not included in the household notebooks.
