BUBANZA November 13th (ABP) – Young people in Bubanza province are called on to go beyond all that differentiates them, namely to detect the good and the bad, in order to avoid the manipulation of malicious politicians, especially during this electoral period. This was said during a two-day workshop (from Monday November 11 to Tuesday the 12th) organized in favor of young people by the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Posts and Information Technologies, at the headquarters of Bubanza province (northwestern Burundi).
The data of that ministry show that in Burundi, young people represent 66% of the Burundian population, and that it is this category of the population that the country needs much more for its security and its development.
Some of the contributions that young people present made for beefing up security and peace include: turning a deaf ear to the ill-intentioned politicians who manipulate them negatively, combination of efforts and synergistic work to make security, peace and development a reality, to develop the spirit of brotherhood, tolerance and trust between them.
Mrs. Janvière Harerimana, director of youth organization coordination in the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Posts and Information Technology, called on those young people to change their mindset and to be good leaders in their respective localities, and organize themselves into self-development associations.
As for the socio-cultural adviser of Bubanza province governor, Mr. Gaspard Nkurikiye, he asks young people to use their intelligence to avoid the manipulation of malicious politicians, especially during this election period.
Note that this training workshop focused on conflict prevention, guaranteeing security and peacebuilding.
