BURURI August 3rd (ABP) – Children orphaned by AIDS and the other vulnerable of Matana commune, Bururi Province (south-west), benefited on Thursday from school materials consisting of notebooks, pens and other school items, offered by the NGO Family to Defeat AIDS / Friend Of Children (FVS / AMADE). The FVS / AMADE, which supports community groupings, officially launched that activity in the Matana commune, but will continue the activity in the eight provinces where it operates.
A total of 8,400 children will benefit from that assistance in Bururi province, i.e., school kits worth 69,300,200 BIF. The children in the first and second year each received five notebooks and two pens, those of the third and fourth year had six notebooks and two pens, those of the fifth and sixth year 10 notebooks and four pens, as well as the children in class seven, eight and nine. Those in the basic school each received 12 notebooks and four pens. The parents of children and the families that supported them commended that human act which is realized thanks to the weekly contributions of the members of the FVS / AMADE gathered in community groupings.
Ms. Spès Nihangaza, legal representative of the FVS / AMADE, asked the beneficiary children to follow the courses correctly at the school.
