BUJUMBURA December 3rd (ABP) – Kenya’s National Assembly Speaker Justin Bedan Njoka Muturi arrived in Bujumbura on the evening of Friday when he was received with gladness at the Bujumbura International Airport by his Burundian counterpart Pascal Nyabenda, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.
To that end, Mr. Nyabenda appealed to the people of Bujumbura city, but also to the people living in the interior of the country who have the financial means to come and watch the various matches that have started from 1st to end on 11 December 2018, in the Bujumbura City. There are different disciplines including football, volleyball, netball, golf and so on, he said.On that occasion, Mr. Nyabenda first recalled that Burundi will host the East African Community games which are organized every year, especially in December, and that his counterpart from Kenya expressed, during their meeting in Juba (South Sudan), the wish to come to Burundi to support those games and show the solidarity that exists in the sub-region.
The Speaker of the National Assembly of Burundi finally announced that in addition to the delegations that are already there, other visitors are expected in Bujumbura. He cited among them, the wife of former Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete who is netball player, and the second deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Tanzania who is also a lady.
On his part, Mr. Muturi said that those games help to strengthen the ties between the East African Community countries.
