BUJUMBURA January 22nd (ABP) – The 1st Deputy President of the Republic of Burundi, Mr. Gaston Sindimwo, joined the Christians of the Philadelphia Church of Kamenge in Bujumbura City Council on Sunday January 20, 2019, in a Sunday’s prayer.
At the beginning of the prayer, the legal representative of that church, Pastor Jean Karekezi, welcomed the 1st Deputy President of the Republic and explained the word of God found in Matthew chapter 3, verse 1-2; Luke chapter 5, verse 18-25 inviting Christians to convert, arguing that the kingdom of God is at hand. Pastor Karekezi called on Christians to enter the year 2019 with a change he sees as being born again.
The first Deputy President Sindimwo was pleased with the way he was welcomed and praised the teachings of Pastor Karekezi. Referring to the word of God found in John chapter 3, verse 7-12; in Jeremiah chapter 29 verse 11; in Isaiah chapter 49 verses 15 to 16 and in Philippians chapter 2, verses 3 to 4; verses that teach the love of God, he called on the Christians of the Philadelphia Church to walk in the love of God, according to the word of God.
Burundi, he said, has experienced hardships because of the lack of this love and to this fact, Burundians have divided ethnically and politically, which has been an obstacle to the country’s development. He advised the Christians of that church to avoid evil and to remain united despite their diversity. He urged them to remain vigilant during the electoral period which is close because, he said, there are those who baffle Burundian citizens in such periods.
Christians of the Philadelphia Church in Kamenge offered the 1st Deputy President of the Republic a goat and a banana diet.
