He asks political leaders to stand by their members to teach them respect for the different steps of that referendum process.
The governor of Gitega seized the opportunity to appreciate the good cohabitation that characterized the members of the various political parties during the year 2017. The positive results of that serenity were notably peace and security as well as the work in synergy among people from different political parties during community development works, he said.
It is with that in mind that there are self-development associations that bring together members from different political parties. In particular, he cited associations of traders and farmers’ associations. He asked them to continue that attitude during that process of the constitutional referendum.
It is in that framework of creation of a climate favorable to the social cohesion that the governor of Gitega intends to start soon a broad campaign to transmit messages of the program of moralisation of the society launched by the President of the Republic of Burundi. Members of the different political parties and other social categories should immerse themselves in the undeniable values of patriotism, he said. He also recommended people of different political tendencies to combine their efforts in community development works and their households.
