GITEGA December 21st (ABP) – Burundi’s Head of State Pierre Nkurunziza continued his working visit to Gitega province (central Burundi) on Thursday, December 20, 2018 where he chaired the government retreat works for the two deputy Presidents of the Republic and the ministers, at Gitega presidential palace.
The Head of State encouraged members of the government to go ahead to record more performances. He recommended that more attention be paid to initiatives and innovations. They were also invited to plan future prospects according to the context and the socio-political evolution of the moment.That government retreat, which was an extension of the works held on Wednesday, was aimed at assessing together the state of implementation of the commitments made by the various ministries, said Mr. Prosper Ntahorwamiye, secretary-general and spokesman of the government, in a press briefing that he held on Thursday after retreat. The various ministers drew up, point by point, the assessment of achievements. The President of the Republic deemed the assessment very satisfactory with an overall score of 87%, the Secretary General of the Government added.
A series of other pieces of advice were provided to members of the government. They are particularly called on to keep in mind the slogan that this year remains a decision-making period.
