BUJUMBURA March 20th (ABP) – Two policemen of the Burundi National Police (PNB) whose names are Jean Simbagoye and Léonard Nshimirimana, were killed in Mutara village, Maramvya zone of Mutimbuzi commune in Bujumbura province on Monday March 18, 2019, at approximately 2:30 am.
The PNB attributes that double murder to a robber armed with an AK 47 rifle. This information was confirmed on Tuesday March 19th by the spokesman of the Ministry of Public Security, Commissioner Nkurikiye. He said that those PNB agents were shot when they intervened after a telephone alert from a woman who was talking about a kidnapping of a man by that criminal.
The robber also recovered the weapons of the two policemen, the spokesman of the Ministry of Public Security said, adding that five people, including the woman who alerted the victims, have already been arrested for investigation.
