MUYINGA February 13th (ABP) – The governor of the Muyinga province (north-east of Burundi), Ms. Aline Manirabarusha, issued a statement on Monday February 11th announcing to stockbreeders the next measure for the permanent stabling of livestock from the 1st April 2019.
According to the statement, no stockbreeder will be allowed to graze their animals outside the enclosure. One or more cows that will be caught being grazed in the properties of others will be seized automatically, says the same statement, which does not specify however to which person in authority will be transmitted the said seizures.
Some stockbreeders that the check by the Burundi News Agency contacted but who preferred to remain anonymous did not commend that decision. They call on the governor to hold meetings to tell him about the unfortunate consequences of the decision.
