BUJUMBURA March 15th (ABP) – Burundi 2nd Deputy President Dr. Joseph Butore received a delegation of the Al Maktoum Foundation of Dubai (United Arab Emirates) on Thursday, led by the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Mirza Aswaigh.
At the end of that courtesy visit, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Foundation, Mr. Mirza Aswaigh, revealed to the press that the exchanges included the activities of the foundation and the cooperation between the two countries. He cited, among other things, the school complex construction project in Burundi and the granting of scholarships. He expressed the readiness of the foundation to work in all areas for social development. He thanked the Government of Burundi for facilitating the task.
The spokesperson of the 2nd Deputy President, Mr. Hassan Ngendakumana, said the 2nd Deputy President commended the initiative and insisted that the education sector is one of the government’s priorities. This is a good basis for developing strong relationships in the education sector. He said the foundation is committed to helping children, vulnerable students get scholarships to the United Arab Emirates.
During his stay in Burundi, the delegation will visit the sites where school complexes will be built, particularly in Rumonge.
