RUMONGE December 3rd (ABP) – The Minister of Hydraulics, Energy and Mines, Mr. Côme Manirakiza, made on Thursday a visit to the site where will be erected a hydroelectric dam on the Ruzibazi River in Rumonge province (south). He said on that occasion that it is a preparatory visit to see the progress of the works and realize that the reports provided are in line with the field reality before the official launch date of the works. Those works concern the construction of houses that will house workers and the tracing of roads to the dam.
Mr. Manirakiza said he was satisfied with the step taken in the preparatory works, before expressing his gratitude to the local residents who allowed the effective preparation of the works before the compensation was distributed. He informed people that who will see his fields and crops destroyed, as part of those works, will be compensated.
