MAKAMBA February 1st (ABP) – The governor of Makamba province (southern Burundi), Mr. Gad Niyukuri, along with the heads of provincial services and those of Kibago commune, joined on Wednesday January 30, 2019, the Kiyange people in the planting activities of 17,500 tree seedlings in Migongo village, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.
In his welcoming speech, the communal administrator of Kibago, Mr. Zénon Nishimwe, said that peace and security are good and that the people go about the field and development activities. He deplored the death of a girl who used to attend the Kigara Communal High School and who committed suicide with a rope. Communal administrator Nishimwe also indicated that the inhabitants of Kibago have built zonal markets but they have no iron sheets.
Governor Niyukuri thanked the people who implement the advice of their leaders. He asked them to maintain and protect the tree seedlings they had just planted. He also advised them to keep the harvest in the storage sheds.
Those activities were attended by the young people grouped together in the Youth-in-mission association from Switzerland.
