Through reports presented by participants at the meeting held at the premises of the Gasenyi basic school located at one kilometer from the Tanzanian-Burundian border, it was found that the security situation is in good shape in Cankuzo.
According to those reports, two cases of murder were recorded last February in Gisagara commune and one in Cankuzo commune while the phenomenon of land conflicts was reported in Kigamba and Mishiha communes. Cases of theft were also recorded at kiosks in the Cankuzo central market of where the apprehended perpetrators are people who had just left the central prison of Ruyigi on the Presidential pardon.

Faced with that bitter fact, Governor Njiji invited the empowered authorities to combine efforts to put an end to prohibited drinks with a view to their eradication by the end of March 2018.

Even the others are preparing to come back thanks to the awareness-raising campaign that has been conducted jointly with the administration and the education partners, it was said. The governor of Cankuzo province also recommended the revitalization of the joint security committees and the communication system for the good control of the security situation.
