KAYANZA January 28th (ABP) – Residents of the urban center of Kayanza in the commune and province of Kayanza (northern Burundi) welcome the provision, by the LVWATSAN II project, of bins for the collection of household waste and other solid waste.
According to those residents, that health system will help fight against diseases linked to poor hygiene, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.
The equipment for solid waste collection, which was kept at REGIDESO, has been operational for almost a week. The bins into which that solid waste is thrown have already been placed in different corners of the districts of the urban center of Kayanza.
In addition, some managers of the care structures located in downtown Kayanza testify that they had difficulty managing the waste thrown here and there, in front of their health care facilities, by passengers and itinerant traders.
Contacted in that regard, the responsible for Town planning in Kayanza province, Mr. Emmanuel Ndayiragije, calls on the inhabitants of the town of Kayanza to make good use of these public trash cans and avoid throwing garbage anywhere in order to promote hygiene in the town center.
