View of Lake Rweru in Kirundo province

KIRUNDO February 28th (ABP) – Two dead bodies were found in Busoni commune of Kirundo province (northern Burundi) on Saturday February 23, 2019. They were floating in Lake Rweru, administrative sources said. According to the governor of Kirundo province, Mr. Alain Tribert Mutabazi, who visited the site, one dead body was found in Sigu village and another in Kumana village, and both were in decay, he added. He indicated that the people of those two localities said they did not lose any of theirs, but rather that those bodies came from Rwanda, because those two villages are not far from that country bordering Burundi and it is visible that even the debris from Rwanda are observed on the Burundian side.

Mr. Mutabazi denied rumors saying that five bodies were found, while calling on people of Busoni Commune and throughout the province to be careful about people whose task is to spread rumors. He also appealed to them to build peace and security in their villages.
