The Head of State Evariste Ndayishimiye has attended to the ordination ceremonies for priests in Shombo

KARUSI July 6th (ABP) – In a festive atmosphere, in the presence of the presidential couple, the Minister of Education, the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, the Archbishop of Gitega Mgr. Simon Ntamwana proceeds, on Saturday July 4, 2020 in Shombo commune of Karusi province, to the ordination of 14 priests, to the granting of the rank of deacon to 8 elders.

Acolytes, the rank of Acolyte to 13 former Readers and the grade of readership to 17 seminarians.

Just after the arrival of the President of the Republic, Mr. Evariste Ndayishimiye at 9:45 a.m., the mass began with entry to the Shombo stadium, well prepared to host the ordination ceremonies, song teams, candidates at different ranks, priests and bishops took place.

In his homily, Bishop Ntamwana defined the priest as a good shepherd who must stay with the sheep. He is characterized by all the qualities of a better leader.

The priest is also compared to a beautiful garden that all Christians share. He is a chosen among several followers and must play the intermediary between God and the Christians.

After his homily the Archbishop of Gitega proceeded to the ordination ceremonies, an expected activity which attracted the attention of everyone.
