KARUSI January 9th (ABP) – The governor of Karusi province (center-east), Ms. Calinie Mbarushimana, deplores the progress of household contributions for the construction of a modern stadium. It was agreed that each commune has to contribute 10,500,000 BIF or 500 BIF per household during the past year. Unfortunately, Ms. Mbarushimana pointed out that the first commune, namely Mutumba, arrives at a collection rate of 45.6%, followed by Buhiga with 34.2%, Gitatamuka with 28.7%, Bugenyuzi with 25.8%, Nyabikere with 16%, Gihogazi with 13.5% and finally Shombo with 9.9%.

The governor congratulates the few village leaders who have already reached more than 80% of collection, while others have reached less than 2%. She recommends sensitization meetings, the involvement of all village council members and the dismissal of village leaders who are not involved in that work. Civil servants and traders must also pay this contribution amounting to 500 BIF, in addition to 3% withdrawn from their monthly salary, as agreed, Mbarushimana insisted.
