BUJUMBURA October 31st (ABP) – The Cabinet met on Wednesday October 30, 2019 at the Ntare Rushatsi State House in Bujumbura, under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Burundi, Mr. Pierre Nkurunziza, with seven items on the agenda, according to a press release from the General Secretariat of the Government.

This includes the bill amending Law No. 1/20 of 9/12/2004 on the status of the Head of State upon expiry of his duties; Joint Ministerial Ordinance Bill No. 550/540 awarding a performance bonus to Legal Counsel-State Attorneys, both to be presented by the Minister of Justice, Civil Protection and Seals Control.

The bill establishing and organizing an administrative entity called District; the bill creating and delimiting the district of Bujumbura and a note on the special authorization to change the allocation of funds earmarked for communal projects, 2019-2020 edition, for certain communes, with a view to continuing or making electrification projects, these are to be presented by the Minister of the Interior, Patriotic Education and Local Development.

The bill to ratify the Kigali amendment to the Montreal Protocol on substances that deplete the Ozone Layer was to be presented by the Ministry of the Environment, Agriculture and Livestock, while decree bill establishing the creation, composition, missions and operation of a one-stop shop for the management of all relations between the Government of the Republic of Burundi and foreign non-governmental organizations, as regards accreditation, registration, the execution protocol and the establishment on the ground was to be presented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
