Ten kilos of hemp have been seized by the police

KAYANZA June 8th (ABP) – Ten kilos of hemp were seized on Friday June 5, 2020 by the police operating in Kayanza province (north), at the home of a certain Jean Marie Ndagijimana residing in the Wingwa district, Musave village in the commune and Kayanza province.

The commissioner in charge of the judicial police in Kayanza province, OPC2 Mizero Jean Claude, informs that Ndagijimana is a repeat trafficker of that kind of drug and that he is still punished but without giving up.

OPC2 Mizero recalls that as provided for in the penal code of Burundi, the culprit of that kind of forfeit receives a prison sentence of one year and 5 years and a fine ranging from 50,000 to 1,000,000 BIF.

He warns any drug trader that the police will never give free rein to anything likely to harm public security and asks the people to always report such acts. The accused is since Friday tenant of the dungeon of the provincial police station in Kayanza.
