BUBANZA November 2nd (ABP) – The Director of the Provincial Office of the Environment, Agriculture and Livestock (BPEAE) in the Bubanza province (northwest of Burundi), Mr. Willy Ndayikeza, calls on the stockbreeders to work in group to buy vaccines for nodular dermatosis, a check by ABP revealed

Director Ndayikeza says he is making the appeal because cattle vaccination data from last week show that stockbreeders have not responded massively.

Of the 26,700 cows that were expected for this vaccination, only 9,663 were vaccinated, or 36.19%. He asks them to pay 1000 BIF per cow because this disease is contagious and can kill several animals in a short time.

Of the 5 days that were planned for this vaccination, the staff set up for that activity worked properly for only three days for security reasons. The BPEAE Director asks the concerned ministry to authorize the recovery of those two lost days.
