New elected village leaders are called upon to work in accordance with government objectives

CANKUZO September 3rd (ABP) – The recently elected village leaders in Cankuzo province (eastern Burundi) are called upon to immediately put themselves at the service, to engage in the fight against corruption and fraud, and to encourage the inhabitants of their respective villages to work courageously in implementing the goals of responsible and hard-working government.

That emerges from a meeting that the governor of Cankuzo province, Mr. Boniface Banyiyezako, held on Monday August 31, 2020 for them, in Gisagara commune.

Based on the word of God from the book of Deuteronomy, chapter 28, 1-14, Governor Banyiyezako urged those grassroots leaders to always put the word of God first in their daily activities.

The same authority took the opportunity to invite all those elected officials to get to work immediately, to serve the people without inclination so that the objectives of responsible government are achieved.

Those elected leaders raised the questions to be resolved in their villages, in particular those related to the lack of drinking water in certain localities, the insufficiency of classrooms to accommodate pupils enrolled in the first years and the insufficiency of health centers.
