BUJUMBURA August 3rd (ABP) – The ruling party CNDD-FDD has organized a thanksgiving prayer at the party’s national headquarters from August 30 to September 1, 2018, under the theme: “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people he chose for his inheritance”. Psalm 33:12. Prayers by the leaders of the different religious denominations and the songs of the various choirs opened the thanksgiving prayer.

The alliance was reinforced at the special meeting held on July 7-8, 2004.He said that such a prayer was organized on July 16, 2017 in Gitega where they agreed that the “Bagumyabanga” will believe in God the Almighty instead of thinking of other gods. On that occasion, a witness stone (ibuye ry’icagiriji) was put in place. On April 9-10, 2018, the alliance fire (igicaniro c’isezerano) was set up in Gitega by the party’s executive committee as a meeting place for Bagumyabanga every year.In his address, CNDD-FDD General Secretary Major General Evariste Ndayishimiye recalled the miracles God done for Burundi since “the Bagumyabanga have agreed that God will take first place in their party. He reported that it was in an extraordinary meeting held on January 21, 2002.

The purpose of the prayer was to continue strengthening the alliance between God and the Bagumyabanga. He added that it is a good opportunity to prepare the prayer that will take place next year in January, he added.

The secretary general said that God saved Burundi by pulling it out of the war; he compared the Burundian people to the people of Israel to the Promised Land. He took the opportunity to invite those responsible leaders to serve well the people of God by fighting against injustice and poverty, HIV / AIDS, and drugs to better safeguard the body God has given them. He also called for a change of mentality to convert Burundi into a country of joy more than today.

Mr. Ndayishimiye wished the thanksgiving prayer to be an opportunity for each member of his party to convert.
