Condolences from the Speaker of the National Assembly and the Senate President

BUJUMBURA / GITEGA June 11th (ABP) – The day after the announcement of the death of the President of the Republic of Burundi, Mr. Pierre Nkurunziza, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Burundi, Mr. Pascal Nyabenda addressed a message of condolences to the Burundian people to the government and to the family of the late president. It indicates that the National Assembly learned with dismay and indignation of the unexpected death of President Pierre Nkurunziza, which occurred on June 8. Burundi loses a son worthy of his country, a supreme guide of patriotism, a man of speech and of political and spiritual conviction. The message emphasizes that his values ​​and his works will never disappear in the hearts of Burundians. Thus, the National Assembly urges the Burundian people to follow the model bequeathed to them by President Pierre Nkurunziza. At the same time, the Speaker of the National Assembly sends his sincere condolences to the Burundi government, the Burundian people, the distressed family and the CNDD-FDD party of which he was the chairman of the council of wise men and visionary. Through that same message, the National Assembly of Burundi calls on the people to keep calm and serenity during these times of hardship.

For his part, the Senate President of Burundi, Mr. Révérien Ndikuriyo also sent a message of deepest condolences to the Burundians, to the government of Burundi and to the family of the illustrious disappeared, on behalf of the Burundi Senate and in his proper noun. Burundi has just lost a patriot worthy of his name, a President of the Republic, a supreme guide of national patriotism who has always shown the love of his nation and of the Burundian people. The Senate of Burundi will always remember the supreme guide and will always respect his heritage.
