NGOZI March 12th (ABP) – A man by the name of Evariste Minani, a widower from the Gitwa hill in the Gatsinda zone of the Mwumba commune in Ngozi province (north) has since Saturday been imprisoned in the judicial police cell of Ngozi, accused of being caught in secret with his daughter Evelyne Habonimana, who became his wife, near the Akanyaru River, a check by ABP got informed from the communal administrator of Mwumba, Mr. Emmanuel Ndayizeye. The alleged culprit is accused of rape and incest on his daughter with whom he had a baby last January, which was subsequently killed and then given to the dog, according to administrator Ndayizeye. He is also accused of raping his own three 10-year-old and five-and-a-half-year-old girls. The third girl would be dead, a month ago.
According to administrator Ndayizeye, medical reports confirmed those rapes. Contacted about, the public prosecutor in Ngozi, Désirée Bizimana, said he waits for the arrival of the file for a possible trial in flagrance. But since that is a serious case and a crime, the trial should follow the procedure and respect the eight-day time limit.
